Louis, Mo. Some consumers also tell BBB the company did not deliver promised refunds.
BBB advises consumers to use caution when purchasing Guardzilla products. The business has received nearly 30 complaints or negative reports, 19 of which have been filed in the last year. The company failed to respond to or resolve many of the complaints. BBB has received complaints from consumers in 17 states about Guardzilla, which is located at Sutton Blvd. Guardzilla is a Practecol product. According to correspondence BBB received from the company, it sells its products at big-box retailers throughout the U.
The company sells security cameras that are intended for residential and business use. The company also offers video cloud storage and professional security monitoring services. Among the consumers who filed complaints against the company was a retired school teacher from Belleville, Ill. The woman said the company giant xtc 2016 to refund her for her purchase. The woman told BBB she called the company several times to inquire about the status of her refund.
She said she was given promises a supervisor would return her call, but she never heard from the company. Michelle L. Corey, BBB St. Louis president and CEO, said complaints received against the company are troubling. The company needs to make things right with customers who have products that are not functioning.
A man from Portage, Ind. The man said the cameras functioned briefly before they stopped working. The man said he made several attempts via telephone and through an online chat process to try to get the company to troubleshoot the problem for him. He said he was not able to reach anyone in the company. These things are basically paperweights.I pay to be able to record longer videos with sound. I am very disappointed in how this is happening. You can't even use the camera because the app doesn't work.
My 5 year old could have made a better app to use than this. Don't waste your time or money. The app has been horrible since the last update. Uninstalled the app to see if it will fix it.
Guess we will see if it helps. Not a bad cam needs more features like longer recording times without paying for it wider view of the house. Had it for about 3 weeks now. Does pretty good. Sound quality is a little lacking but other than that pretty good! Then after having a fairly long stint of good luck with it it just seemed to quit on me.
I could not get it to reboot and at the very last step would keep giving me an error message. That, followed up by an I immediately thought I was being forced into signing up for a payment plan to continue service. That was an incorrect assumption. Although I shelved the unit for quite some time I finally tried to hook it all up again and then forced myself to call and sit on hold until a tech was available.
From monitoring baby Robins, to watching my electric car charging system, along with guarding our front entrance. It also came in handy watching a raccoon that has been persistent at eating our bird suet. Well done Guardzilla. The cameras and app usually work for monitoring. But the video feature never works.
Not at all helpful if you need pics for the authorities in case of theft.Big Simplisafe fan here - love their system so far. I ordered and am trying to install a camera. Was not able to add the first one I received.
I would go through the setup, but the camera would flash fast yellow and not connect to my home wifi. Simplisafe sent me a replacement. Same issue. Called Support today although wait was long support reps were helpful. Was never able to get the unit connected. Was told that the camera can only support 2. Damager, first, who ever told you to shut off the5 band was nuts. If your router can transmit both 5 and 2. When you get the QR code, keep your phone level about 1 inch away and then slowly move it away about 1 foot, then move slowly back in.
Repeat if you have to but my 3 cameras connected every single time using this method. Must make sure you are on the 2. If not, call back and ask for a supervisor or manager. Appreciate it - didn't make sense to me at all. I did speak to a manager, who insisted the same thing.
How do I direct the camera to use only 2. The Simplisafe camera apparently cannot deal with this. I was able to connect the Simplisafe camera on the first try to the 2. Set up worked. Unplugged old router, re started mesh network. Camera will not connect flashing yellow light. This is real simple, and something that basically EVERY other home wireless product has already figured out.
This information is not good news if true. I have been on the fence with the cameras, but I do use the Google router. Hopefully another call to SS and talking with a supervisor might provide answers.
If true, SS camera is behind the curve in more ways than one. Ok, so, these cameras can't be used unless you have wifi in the house??? I thought that they hooked up to the alarm system. I just purchased 4 of them! SS will even pay shipping. Can you expand on what type you have that is causing the issue?Cameras are an important part of our Android phones.
We love to capture all those lovely moments, we enjoy taking selfies and then there are aspects of our environment that can hardly be left without being photographed. We look for the quickest way to fix the problem so that we can go back to exploring the photographer within us. An error like this can hardly occur because of the hardware. It is usually the software that is responsible for it. Your Android device can show this error at times when the camera has been in use for a long period of time.
Simply exiting the camera, waiting for 30 seconds and then restarting the app by tapping on the app icon is all it takes to fix a problem like this. However, the solution may be temporary and if the problem reoccurs too frequently then you must try the other solutions listed here. Restarting the phone can often fix simple app glitches which may create a problem in the application.
Usually, when a problem is fixed by a restart, it is difficult to trace the actual cause of the problem. If the camera has stopped working without any reason then a restart is a quick and easy fix. However, if your Android device continues to show the same error then the problem may be more than a glitch, it can be a corrupted file or an update that may be causing this. Cache files are created for ease of use and better user experience.

However, sometimes these cache files may get corrupted and it can start bringing up errors that will not allow you to use the camera. To fix the problem, we can clear the cache files. You will not lose any important data in doing so. The only thing you may notice is that the next time you open your camera app, it will take some time to load. You will notice that the cache files will be instantly deleted and the space taken up by the cache files will return to 0. Now open the camera once again and check if the problem is fixed.
This means that you lose your personal preferences if you delete the data files. If you have set some preferences on the camera then you may want to take note of it before you delete the data files. You can then go back and set them up once again. The data files will not delete your photos so you do not have to worry about them. Once the data files are deleted, tap on the camera and check if it is working as expected.
If the error still shows up then proceed to the next solution. Certain camera problems may occur because of a bug in the software which is causing the camera not to work properly. An update helps you solve known issues in the software. To check if you have any pending updates, follow these steps:.
Your device will automatically begin to check for updates and you will get a message which will either tell you that the latest updates have been installed on the device already or it will say that an update is available and you can update the device.
If an update is available then install the update and once your device restarts, check if the camera is working.
The gallery is very closely linked to the camera. If anything goes wrong with the gallery app, it can often creep into the camera and end up with an error message.
Deleting the cache and data files of the gallery app can be helpful in finding out if the gallery app was the culprit. If you are comfortable dumping the stock camera app, then open the Play Store and look for a third-party camera app. There are quite a few of those available and some of them may offer you more than the current stock camera app that you were using.AMA with Carl on Instagram live: submit your question now! Cupcake Dec 18, Any other comments My husband and I use the Ring Camera.
It notifies the phone when the camera is activated by motion. After last update I am no longer receiving notifications of motion, while my husbands phone still is receiving Some thing wrong, please try again later!
Cupcake Jan 5, I have no solution so far. Cupcake Jan 12, CMLJan 12, : I also have the exact same problem and Ring customer support cannot resolve and blames the phone.
Oneplus please fix ASAP.
How to Troubleshoot QR Code Reader Failures
Donut Jan 23, I also tested on an 4 year old iPad Mini and the notifications work just fine. Please fix ASAP. After these changes I was able to trigger the notification each time. I will observe and report back.
Once I close it, they stop. This is either a bug or I changed notification settings on the phone. I have looked around but I cannot find the appropriate setting.
It seems that sometimes notifications work even after all apps are closed. This is frustrating I was hoping that I would be notified as soon as motion is detected and the Ring app would open with a live view on the phone.
I am monitoring who comes to the front of my elderly father's door so I can fend off the pesky vendors. Last edited: Feb 7, Cupcake Feb 5, Donut Feb 7, One of the things we love the most when using Android smartphones or tablets is the fact we can download tons of apps. Just by launching Google Playwe get instant access to a variety of apps. While some of the applications cost a few cents or dollars, the majority is free.
We can try new apps daily! But is the experience of using the apps always smooth? Unfortunately not. Some of your favorite apps can freeze or crash. Every Android user faced this issue at least once. If this bothering you now, and apps freezing and crashing on Android smartphone or tablet you own, try the solutions below.
There are several reasons why apps keep crashing or freezing. The app can become unresponsive or it may crash if it is not up to date. Another reason is the fact the app is poorly coded.
A software glitch can also cause the problem. As you may notice, various things can be the reason why apps crashing or freezing. The first thing you should do is restart your device. The processes that may be opened along with the apps that keep running in the background will close after you restart your device. That way, you will free up the memory that might have been clogged. Your device will perform smoother.
If you notice the apps keep crashing or freezing after the reboot, move to other solutions. To restart your device, press and hold the Power button. When the menu appears, tap Restart or Power off and Restart.
If users complain about the issue, including freezing and crashing, developers will fix it with an update. Poor and sluggish Internet connection can force an app to crash or freeze. This is usually the case with poorly coded apps. Some apps work great when the Internet connection is stable and strong, for instance, when you are connected to a home or office Wi-Fi.I bought one and it has worked great. The sound and mic work awesomely. Best cam and easy to set up.
Easy set up. I like having the option to use AA batteries or be able to plug it in. Camera picture is great, especially at night. Well worth the money. I had been wanting this camera a while before I purchased it. I finally saved enough to buy it. This camera was easy to set up and I loved it. I purchased 2 of these and each one worked great for a few days, but by day 15 did not work how it was supposed to.
One just stopped working completely, the other stopped recording clips. Both had about a 6 second lag, at first, to start recording. Later, I would not get an alert for 1 or 2 hours after motion was detected. I was so excited about these little wireless security cams when I bought them, but it turned into great disappointment.
The only reason I gave 2 stars instead of 1 star was because they were great the few days they worked. Worked for the first day. I've had it for 4 days and it didn't record what I needed it to.
Luckily I got home at the right time. I will be returning it and getting a different brand. Do not waste your money. The camera takes good video. The problem is the app. I get notifications from the camera but i cant log in to see the video. The app says there is no internet connection but yet you still get movment notifications This seems to be a common problem according to other reviews on other sites. Very short wifi range.
App keeps crashing and will not stay connected. Other wifi devices in the area and further away have no issues. Here at Walmart.
